Prof. Mark B. Shiflett
Cofounder and Chief Executive Officer
Mark cofounded Sulverra™ and provides strategic direction on business development and scale-up. He is also a Distinguished Foundation Professor of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at the University of Kansas and Director of the NSF Engineering Research Center – Environmentally Applied Refrigerant Technology Hub (EARTH) that is developing a circular refrigerant economy and sustainable cooling technologies. With over 39 years of experience in industrial R&D and academia, he is an inventor on 50 U.S. patents and a recognized leader in sustainable process innovation.
Prof. Aaron M. Scurto
Cofounder and Chief Science Officer
Aaron cofounded Sulverra™ and provides strategic direction on catalyst development and applications. He is also a Professor in Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at the University of Kansas and co-inventor of Sulverra’s patented catalyst technology. His expertise includes thermodynamics and kinetics, safety and sustainability, and lifecycle analysis.
Luc A. Mauro
Research Chemist
Luc is leading the development and synthesis of safer and sustainable catalysts. He is currently a PhD candidate at Lehigh University, trained as a synthetic chemist. His research focuses on developing catalysts to repurpose fluorinated gases, motivated by the application of chemistry to real-world challenges.
Dr. Kalin Baca
Business Advisor
Kalin advises Sulverra™ on market development, strategic partnerships, and business development. She is a PhD chemical engineer and entrepreneur with deep expertise in sustainable engineering and technology commercialization. She co-founded and is CEO of Icorium Engineering Company. Her background includes advanced separation technologies, leadership in STEM advocacy, and business strategy.
